It arrived quite quickly and was really delicious. Another waitress helped me out and i ordered the haddock and chips. could order from the menu or that could be made gluten-free. My first visit was lovely although when i asked for a gluten-free menu, one of the waitresses gave me an enormous stack of allergy documents (100+ pages) and didnt offer any recommendations of items which i. I have visited twice in the last two weeks. Well, in light of Covid 19 and struggling businesses, i hope their arrogance will see them through, because i for one wont be eating there again. There wasnt really a lot of choice on the menu as an alternative to a roast, and thats why we chose what we did as we both like gammon, but it was so salty i struggled to eat all of mine, the chop was also quite black around the edges and tasted burnt, infact i'd give it 4 out of 10 for taste and 7 out of 10 for presentation.Īs if that wasnt bad enough, to cap it all we asked for the bill, we waited 20 minutes for it, finally the waitress returned and said sorry i forgot!!!?Īt a later date i emailed them directly to express my disappointment to which i had no reply, ive since sent it 2 more times and still no reply. In the meantime a couple on the next table had a chicken roast, and it looked like a drumstick of chicken, i thought theres no way the asking price justifies a drum stick, they are pennies to buy! We both chose a different dish as a result of this, it was a bacon chop, served on a trio of baby potatoes with black pudding and an egg on top with hollandaise sauce to finish. We needed time to re-think and asked for a bit more time to look through menu. Moving on to the food order, we opted for Sunday roast, to be told no beef left, and certainly none arriving in 30 minutes as previously told, completely sold out, ok, so we'll have the Turkey, sorry also sold out, we love all meats so opted for the pork and was told it was also a no go one, infact chicken was all that was left. Settled at our table and a young girl came to take a drinks order, we asked for 2 pints of Staropramen, to be told, we havent got any left but Pravha is just the same, (well it isnt because why have 2 different pumps/taps if its the same?), anyway we just said thats fine and had that instead. be seated due to current times, and told on arrival there was no beef for Sunday roast, but were informed there was more on the way in 30 minutes or so! No worries. As we were down for the weekend and staying local we booked in advance for the Sunday lunch.
